I am not being sarcastic, just look at these magnificent pictures of the city. A city so peaceful, warm welcoming, calm, clean and pleasant you would want to live there forever.
A perfect place to enjoy good long walks. You may recognize some of these locations. These are some of the most iconic landmarks of Karachi.
It is Karachi. Karachi looks very beautiful after a good rain. Yes, I am talking about the same Karachi that has become an ocean in recent rainfall. These pictures are not Photoshopped to look beautiful either.
These are work of Salman Dyer (ig: @street_life_karachi), a Human Resource person by profession, a Cricket fanatic and Food lover who also happen to take great pictures of street and heritage.
I know we cannot un-see the views of Karachi during and after rainfall.
Everyone suffered, and many souls in Karachi are still suffering. But here I will not blame the authorities or I will not get into politics, but I will insist on everyone to take care of this city.
It is our city, it is our home, and it is beautiful. Keeping it clean and beautiful, and green, it is our responsibility first.
It doesn’t matter what city you are living in, it is a part of your country. It is your land and your home too.
It represents you as much as you represent your country. The land will give you comfort and protection as long as you take care of her.
You start disrespecting her, ignoring her, the land, your city, your country will stop taking care of you too, and you will suffer.
And because of you, we all will suffer too. Because of you, I will suffer and because of me, you will too.
Have a good look at these pictures again and make sure, next time after the rain we will see our cities as beautiful as they are in these pictures…
